Did You Drink Enough Water Today?

If you can answer that question honestly with a Yes, then you are on the right track. You can tell if you’re not if your pee is saturated with color, or if it is clear, like the toilet water you are peeing into, you’re a rockstar!

You know you’re drinking enough water if you go from always tired, consistent headaches, and unhealthy skin, to full of energy, head held high, and clear skin! The amount of water in the human body ranges from 50-75%. The average adult human body is 50-65% water, averaging around 57-60%. The percentage of water in infants is much higher, typically around 75-78% water, dropping to 65% by one year of age. The fact that we are made up mostly water is more evidence that we need to feed our bodies water consistently.

How much water should we consume on the daily? This number is very tangible, it has many variables. How old you are, how much exercise you’re doing, your age, everything. So how do we find out how much water we should be drinking? Here’s an answer I got from Mayo Clinic.

“The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is:

  • About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids for men
  • About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women

These recommendations cover fluids from water, other beverages and food. About 20 percent of daily fluid intake usually comes from food and the rest from drinks.”

This a good number to start at. But most people can hydrate themselves based on how dehydrated they feel. Others will never know that they are getting drowsy because of the lack of water intake. So my question to you is, did you drink enough water today?

Why A Clean Work Space Benefits Everyone

The last thing on your mind as a small business owner that is doing everything possible to keep your business running, is keeping your work space clean. You may forget to clean every once in a while, but why should you make it habit?

A clean work space benefits everyone in your office or facility. Here are a few reasons how it can help your business.

Find Everything You Need!

When your work space is neat and clean it is easier to remember where you put your important files or your favorite pen. Whatever it is, it will be harder to find when your work space is messy and disorganized. We’ve all heard a variation of “it’s my mess, I know where my stuff is”, but lead by example and promote a clean environment so there is no room for misplacing important belongings.

A Clean First Impression

It is important to leave a “clean” first impression on your clients and prospective employees. You wouldn’t like to walk into a room that looks like this… (This is dramatization, I hope you never walk into a room like this)

If you did you probably wouldn’t want to do business with this person or purchase their services. Same applies to the people walking into your place of work. Keep your work place neat and clean and you’ll impress everyone who comes in the office.

Good Branding

Adding to the first impression you set for new clients and employees, consistent cleanliness can help with your branding. Some people spend thousands of dollars for new branding campaigns. What is better than getting it done for free? When people think of your business you want them to know you are clean. Cleanliness in the mind of the consumer is directly tied with success. They will probably choose to do business with someone who is clean with their business.

Employee Attitude

You won’t be the only one walking into their office with a smile on. Your employees will be happier. Coming into an organized desk and a clean environment can make you feel refreshed. Every day is a new day. If it was disorganized and cluttered, you may be slowing down the productivity of your employees because who wants to spend 8 hours in a place that is unclean? An organized environment can directly result in better productivity from your employees. Keep everyone happy and work clean!

On top of exceptional delivery, we pride ourselves on exclusivity. How many other businesses are advertising the same product or service on the same publications as you? How many other businesses are advertising on the same TV channel as you? How can these advertisements guarantee that the audience will see YOU and ultimately choose YOU. That is how we separate ourselves from our competitors. We offer advertisements for a couple of different businesses, so you don’t have to compete with your competitors.

Here is a list of our product line.

  • Brand Bars

An update to the original grocery store checkout divider. InMark’s Brand Bars feature a 3-inch high billboard that displays a double sided advertisement. Our distinct and sharp Brand Bars are unique from other advertisements. Focusing on growing brand awareness for a small business within their community, the brand bar is sure to deliver recognition and exclusivity.

  • Brand Bins

Think about it. Most people go to supermarkets for an extended period of time, and the chances of them having a bottled beverage, receipt, or something to throw out is in our favor. These trash bins advertise our clients on the sides. That means when a costumer is going to throw out their latte, your business is what’s on their mind.

  • Brand Bench

These are for those shoppers that are shopping for an extended time and need a break, or those who are waiting for their ride home. Brand benches have more than enough space to make your ad stand out for everyone that walks by. Our dynamic and versatile platforms are strategically placed so they catch the attention of even those who are in too much of a rush to sit down.

  • Digital Screens

Grocery TV Network’s 32 inch high definition screens are mounted just above the product displays in every other checkout lane. The TV  draws the attention of customers with vibrant motion graphics on each TV creating a “video wall” across the front end of the supermarket. You won’t have to worry about your business being the center of attention!

  • Cart Corrals

A potential costumer is about to embark on their weekly food-shopping trip. What’s the first thing they’ll need? A cart! That’s where they’ll see your advertisement. You’ll be on their mind from the beginning of their shopping experience to the end, AND even on their drive home after dropping the cart off at the corral.

  • Shopping Carts

Placing your ad on a shopping cart your business is guaranteed to travel with a shopper for an average of 41 minutes a trip! That is a lot of time to be exposed and make an impression on your audience.

  • Welcome Center

Obtain brand familiarity in the easiest way possible. What’s a better way to get exposure among your local market than by welcoming them to the place they frequent the most? Our 7-foot tall welcome centers are the first engaging material costumers will see when arriving to the supermarket.

Great Ideas Should Be Shared!

When one has a brilliant idea it becomes worrisome to some to want to partner with larger companies in fear of having the idea stolen. It could be difficult to come up with a great idea when you know very little about how to start a company. You could have a wonderful idea conjured up and believe it to be a successful idea, but there is a great difference between coming up with a great idea and making it a reality. However, keeping an idea to yourself is something that every entrepreneur should avoid.

At the beginning, getting feedback from your family and friends is an important step not to be skipped; the simple act of explaining the concept of the business to people you hold near and dear could reveal issues that could have been avoided or could bring about new ideas. Once you have a solid business model you will surely be on the hunt for a business partner and potential founding members of the team to help you on the long journey, as well as possible investors and the attention of the press.

Remember to make time to network with others in the industry you are trying to breach. This can be invaluable, especially if you can find a mentor along the way. Having someone with relevant knowledge to bounce ideas back and forth with and guide you in the right direction is a key to success. A good mentor can create a connection with other companies and individuals and also guide you on what to share and what to keep to yourself.

The key is to always remember that when you share your idea, make sure you are always in the best position to capitalize on your success. Remember that even if you have a prosperous company in one country, there may be another in a different country that could stifle your success. However, it’s worth running the risk because keeping an idea to yourself impedes your growth. The possibility of developing a company from the ground up on your own is remote; but with help from others, the process will speed up. Not to mention, someone else might be developing the same idea, and could beat you to it if you are not prepared with a team to move things along.

Although it is not recommended that entrepreneurs go around sharing all of their ideas, it’s good to remember that discretion should not be the cloak that covers all you are working on. Knowing how to share and what to share is a skill that can be learned. Until then, finding a mentor that can help guide your decisions is a great first step. Sharing your ideas with that person will be a liberating experience.

Setting Yearly Goals Using The 4 F’s

It feels great going into the new year with a clear list of goals or a goal. But, how do we create a set of goals that we actually will commit to and fulfill? We can do this by a process of looking into one’s self and finding what makes us go. What puts fuel in our drive. Our four F’s are Facts, Feelings, Focus, Fruits. To really find out what drives you go ahead and start with the first F of the four.

Facts:

It is literally that, what are the facts about yourself that you know. This could be anything from my waist size is 34, to I don’t spend enough time with family or friends. When working on facts, pinpoint what you want to work on and state the facts of how it is now. So if I want to work on my eating habits, some facts would be that I eat whatever I want when I want, I don’t eat vegetables, and I consume a lot of carbs.

Feelings:

Now this is where it starts to get intense. Really go deep and as raw as possible. Self reflection is key to finding what pushes you. Based on the example I stated earlier, here are how I would feel about those facts. I feel good while I am eating, but after I eat I look at my stomach and feel that I can do better for myself. I feel tired after I eat so many carbs and feel unhealthy when I don’t eat vegetables.

Focus:

What are you going to do to change how you feel about these facts? This is your focus. In the case of the examples above, I would change this by starting a meal prep, eating vegetables even if I start with one vegetable a day. Focus on your goal and how you feel about the current facts and you will want to push yourself.

Fruits:

Reap the fruits of your labor! Once you reach your goal, don’t just settle and quit. Keep going, you’ve gotten this far and you can keep going forward. It damn sure feels good reaching your goal, so this is where you get to enjoy what you’ve been working towards. TRUST THE PROCESS!

Promoting Emotional Intelligence as a Team

inMark isn’t just a company; it’s a team that works thoroughly and efficiently to reach company and individual goals. One of those goals is team bonding and building. It’s a key aspect to the success of inMark and, really, any company, organization, or group that is shooting for the stars. One way inMark Media maintains team relationships is through emotional intelligence.

Emotional Intelligence is the ability to react to situations with control, empathy, self awareness and social awareness in a way that maintains relationships, is motivating, and self-regulating. In other words, it’s people skills. Yes, technical skills, IQ, experience using software and job-specific skills are all necessary for employment. But, what truly makes an outstanding leader outshine a good leader? Emotional intelligence.

It’s like working out

Emotional intelligence requires you to rewire your brain’s innate impulses and habits. Let’s look at an analogy:

Say you work out 5 days a week, every week, for 2 years. After two years, you’ve established discipline. You’ve trained your body to act a certain way, to change, and to develop. It probably wasn’t easy in the beginning to leave work and go straight to the gym or wake up at the crack of dawn to get on the treadmill. But, after 2 years these actions feel like the other aspects of your everyday life. You’ve created a habit!

That’s the whole concept behind emotional intelligence. The only difference? You’re ‘working out’ your mind instead of your body. Some people are naturally more self-aware or in-tune with people’s emotions, so developing emotional intelligence won’t be a struggle. Others are born into unfortunate situations and have deep-seeded family issues. These people may require more practice and mind training.

But, Regardless of our emotional brain makeup, we can consistently learn and develop emotional intelligence through plasticity, a “term that neurologists use to describe the brain’s ability to change” [1]. Over time, these practices will become intrinsic habits.

It creates trust

Understanding and maintaining control of your emotions will help you subdue the urge to act on an emotional impulse. Every human has emotions. They are our first reactions to any situation we are in. Gaining control of our emotions is not pretending they don’t exist; gaining control helps us accept our emotions and work them into our favor. Will you get mad that you weren’t offered the job you had been dreaming about? Probably. Should you slam your fist against the wall 15 times to let that anger out? Probably not.

Obviously, that’s an extreme example, but it gets the point across. With emotional intelligence, you understand your emotions, and you’re able to react to situations in a mannerly way. This is especially important for leadership positions. Leaders who are attempting to establish an environment that fosters success and improvement need to acquire employee trust. It’s human nature to be drawn to situations and cultures where we are treated fairly and equally.

For all aspects of life

Emotional intelligence, as a tool and as a way of life, is important to all aspects of ultimate succession. Whether you’re acting as a leader to your employees, a father or mother to your children, or a teacher to your students, an advanced emotional intelligence creates habits that allow you to act properly. ‘Book smarts’ are important. But, understanding the emotions of others creates an environment that fosters productivity and success.

Supermarket Advertising: Why is it Effective?

Supermarket shopping behavior has changed for the better and has created direct opportunities for effective, local advertising.

Society is changing, and it’s changing quickly. Not just technologically, but socially too. As gender roles change in society, so do gender roles in the household—including grocery shopping. What used to be a primarily one-person job has turned into an entire family task. What does that mean for small businesses? More exposure to more of your target market more frequently.

Food Marketing Institute (FMI) conducted a study in 2016 that tracked the behaviors of supermarket shoppers. The institute has conducted studies for over four decades to understand and predict trends of supermarket shoppers. The results of the 2016 study showed a shift in consumer behavior from 2015.

Households are sharing shopping responsibilities

3 in 5 households are engaging in some amount of co-shopping, according to FMI.This untraditional consumer trend presents an opportunity for local businesses. With no primary shopper in most households, supermarket advertisements are gaining more exposure. How? Two or more shoppers per household are seeing supermarket advertisements. That’s 200 to 300 percent more exposure than traditional single-shopper households.

Benefits for your business? More local exposure for your supermarket advertisement.

Shoppers want to eat at home

89 percent of supermarket shoppers believe that eating at home is healthier than eating at a restaurant. AKA, 9 out 10 shoppers are consistently visiting their local supermarkets for meal preparations.

Benefits for your business? Consistent repetitive exposure to your supermarket advertisement.

Co-shopping is a growing trend among Millennia’s

Millennials are the future. They are the new market, the new trend setters, the consumer behavior setters. According to FMI, co-shopping trends in households with more than one adult are growing. In fact, 91 percent of multi-adult households with young Millennials (18 to 27) are sharing shopping. For families with no Millennials? They’re still co-shopping, but 11 percent less than millennial households.

Benefits for your business? Millennia’s, who were basically born into technology, prefer supermarkets over shopping online, so why not advertise there?

In fact, most shoppers still prefer brick-and-mortar shopping experiences

Although technology continues to integrate itself into our everyday lives, it remains an unfavorable alternative to physically food shopping. Only about 5 percent of all supermarket shoppers use online-only retail services. The other 95 percent of supermarket shoppers consistently visit their local supermarkets for their food necessities.

Benefits for your business? Targeting your local market, because the supermarket is where they are!

Food shopping is nothing new and it’s not going to be anything old soon either. Trends in consumer behavior prove that food shopping is here to stay, and it’s the perfect place for small businesses to advertise their services.

Advertising on Instagram and Facebook

Nowadays there are many ways of getting your ad in the eyes view of your consumers. You can go with traditional ways of paper advertising in newspapers, or media advertising on TV or at the movie theaters. If you really want to get to your consumers in this day and age you have to reach them at their point of interest! Where is that you ask? Social media is the key! Even if your consumer is “too old” for Instagram, chances are they have a Facebook account. Facebook makes it fairly simple to create ads for use on both platforms.

1. Choose Your Audience

This is where you choose who you are targeting. You can either make it as specific or broad as you would like. Of course, for better results focus on specifying who your audience is; location, age, or gender, are all good ways to start.

2. Selecting Your Budget

Placing a budget can be confusing. First, check with whoever is in charge of your finances to see what you can spend on advertising. Second, Facebook advertising works as a bidding process for which ad should be displayed on a given consumer’s page. You should choose whether you want Facebook to handle the bidding process automatically giving you the best chance at ad placement, or manually if you want to save yourself some money.

3. Optimization for Ad Delivery

Facebook now has a feature that allows you to optimize your ad delivery based on your preferences.

  • Link Clicks- Display your ads to people who are more likely to click on your ad. (CPC)
  • Impressions- Displays your ads as many times as possible. (CPM)
  • Daily Unique Reach- Allows you to display your ads once per day for your audience.

4. Creating Your Content

When creating your ad, think about how you would come across an ad. Too much writing… I probably won’t read it. Unprofessional… I probably won’t trust it. Too many pictures… What am I supposed to get out of this?

When creating an ad, be creative, short and concise. Think of it as an elevator pitch to people scrolling down their feed. You probably have 2 seconds tops to grab their attention.

These are a few steps to get you started on advertising on Facebook and Instagram. For a small business getting known on a major social platform like Facebook or Instagram, it can be confusing running multiple accounts, as well as keeping up with your ads and budget. This is when inMark Media comes into place. Contact us at 1-844-INMARK-1 or click here to check out our agency services.

5 Spiritual Benefits of Traveling

Life can get very repetitive if you don’t change things up once in a while. You get stuck doing the same routine each day, maybe you have time for yourself on the weekends but you have chores piled up that you need to get done. This is why you need to make time for yourself and travel!

This can be difficult if you just started a job and you only get 3 days vacation the whole year, but you can always do small scenic trips around your home. The most important part of traveling is the time you have to enjoy it. Where it is that you travel is a plus. There are many benefits of traveling to unfamiliar places other than being in a new environment, and a lot of it will benefit you spiritually.

1. PERSPECTIVE!

Living your life only at home or in familiar setting is like living under a rock, you don’t see anything else. Maybe on the TV or your phone, but there is nothing like actually experiencing a new environment. Traveling to new places and experiencing it hands-on will change the way you see the world. You see how people in different environments live their lives and that in turn, will either push you to do better for yourself, or teach you to appreciate what you have. Either way, it will give you a different perspective on how you are living your life.

2. Test Your Communication Skills

Whether you live in a highly populated area, or a “same faces everyday” community, it is always nice to meet people you may not have the chance to communicate with otherwise. Traveling affords you the opportunity to communicate with people that you probably will never talk to, even if you saw them at home. Trying to communicate with people you don’t understand is always a fun task isn’t it?

3. Open Your Mind

Living through life with the same experiences, same setting, same people can get very boring. Sometimes sticking to the same routine will leave us with a closed mind to any sort of change or other cultures different to ours. Encountering different cultures as we travel will open our minds to different world-views. Traveling to lower income countries can also motivate you to do more to help communities outside of your own.

4. Appreciation For Your Bed

When traveling, if you are not staying in a set location, like a resort, or a family member’s home, then you don’t necessarily have somewhere to sleep. That can get uncomfortable after the first night, which is why you will have a new found appreciation for your bed back at home!

5. Reboots Your Life

When life gets boring or you feel like you are just coasting, it is time to shake things up! Going and coming back from a vacation can be a reboot to get back into the groove of work. Its a little break from a long stressful year most of us go through.

inMark: Motivational Quote Of The Day

Everyone needs a little motivation sometimes, some people need it more than most, but even if you don’t it still pushes you to do better. Here is a a quote we at inMark believe really sets the tone for success.

“Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.” – Henry Ford.

This quote is very powerful because it focus on YOU. You are your biggest asset, and your mind is your best tool. Now, it is up to you to take a quote, analyze it, and  get what you want from it. On the surface, this quote is saying how strong your mind is that if you think you can’t do something, chances are you won’t be able to do it. You will get in your own way inevitably. However, if you do believe you can, then you will do whatever you can to make it happen. Either way, you will be right at the end of the day.

A different take on this quote can be made by anybody. How a quote effects you is ultimately up to you. Motivational quotes are meant to do exactly that, motivate. Next time you think you can’t, you might think more positively after reading this and believe you can. Just the thought of succeeding can alter your worldview and you might actually make your goal happen. So seize the day and don’t let anyone get in your way, not even yourself!

Supermarket Advertising — The Only Exclusive Advertisement

Supermarket advertising is exactly what it sounds like: advertising in supermarkets. The in-and-outs of traditional advertising can be difficult to figure out, especially for small businesses whose budgets are not as developed as larger companies.

Even with proper planning and an adequate budget, a company can spend months working on an ad campaign only for it to get lost among its competitors. Competition is the achilles’ heel to any company. It’s what drives away consumers and decreases sales.

That’s why supermarket advertising works—it’s exclusive.

Supermarket advertising is entirely exclusive. Our clients are the only company in their industry that advertise in their local supermarkets. That means there’s no outshining competitors and no fear that your competitors advertisements will outshine yours. The only focus is your advertisement’s quality.

Why exclusivity? Because inMark cares. We care about our clients and their successes.

InMark’s supermarket advertising products:

  1. Brand Bins
  2. Brand Bars
  3. Brand Benches
  4. Cart Corrals
  5. Welcome Center
  6. Grocery TV Network

 Brand Bins

Think about it. Most people go to supermarkets for an extended period of time, and a lot of them bring a coffee or drink with them. These trash bins advertise our clients on the sides. That means when a costumer is going to throw out their latte, your business is what’s on their mind.

 Brand Bars

An update to the original grocery store checkout divider. InMark’s Brand Bars feature a 3-inch high billboard that displays a double sided advertisement. Our distinct and sharp Brand Bars are unique from other advertisements. Their innovation is sure to catch the eye of supermarket shoppers.

Brand Benches

If a shopper is tired, what are they going to do? Sit down. That’s why brand benches are one of the smartest investments for small businesses. Our dynamic and versatile platforms are strategically placed so they catch the attention of even those who are in too much of a rush to sit down.

Cart Corrals

A potential costumer is about to embark on their weekly food-shopping trip. What’s the first thing they’ll need? A cart! That’s where they’ll see your advertisement. You’ll be on their mind from the beginning of their shopping experience to the end, AND even on their drive home after dropping the cart off at the corral.

Welcome Center

Obtain brand familiarity in the easiest way possible. What’s a better way to get exposure among your local market than by welcoming them to the place they frequent the most? Our 7-foot tall welcome centers are the first engaging material costumers will see when arriving to the supermarket.

Grocery TV Network

Grocery TV Network’s 32 inch high definition screens are mounted just above the product displays in every other checkout lane. By creating a “video wall” across the front end of the supermarket, your business will be the center of attention.

Advertising isn’t easy, but inMark makes it easier. Our supermarket advertising programs allow companies to exclusively advertise their businesses to their local markets in their local supermarkets. If you or someone you know is interested in our services, call 1-844-INMARK-1 or visit our website for more information about our programs.

Advertising to Supermarket Shoppers!

Advertising to supermarket shoppers has become easier than ever with inMark’s innovative advertising products. Advertising your business to your local supermarket shoppers is one of the most effective and affordable methods to promote your name, image and message to your targeted audience. How so? Supermarket advertisements, such as “Welcome Centers”, which are billboards featured at the entrance of the store or “Brand Bars”, which are grocery dividers placed on all checkout lanes, are guaranteed to be seen by the thousands of customers who continuously visit their local supermarket at least 2-3 times weekly for an average of 40 minutes. Unlike other forms of media advertising, supermarket advertising allows for high exposure, repetition and targeting.

1.Exposure:

A total estimate of 20,000- 25,000 customers visit their local supermarket on a weekly basis. During their shopping experience, shoppers must utilize grocery dividers to divide their groceries at the checkout lane and/or shopping carts to transport their purchased groceries, where your advertisement is strategically featured and guaranteed to be seen. Therefore, through supermarket advertising, a high volume of potential clients are exposed to your point- of-sale advertisement.

2. Repetition:

Thousands of shoppers are continuously exposed to your advertisement on a weekly basis for a stable strategic planning period. This allows your advertisement to be seen by an average of 20,000-25,000 local shoppers repetitively each week. Therefore, through supermarket advertising, potential clients are more likely to remember and respond to your advertisement.

3. Targeting:

Supermarket advertising allows you to target a specific geographic area or demographic. By targeting local shoppers you will be able to reach the diverse community that resides 3-5 miles from your local business. You will be able to reach the people you wish to target.

Aside from your competition, actually running a business can be a downfall to a successful business.

Finances:

Quickbooks

Powered by Intuit, they have evolved their interface to be as user friendly as possible. Making it easy to include payments and point of sale on one dashboard.

Communicating:

GOOGLE

Everyone has heard of Google before, it has become a household name across the world. So why look passed it and its services for your business? From using it as an email with gmail, to creating and sharing documents and spreadsheets on Google drive, to video calls with Google Hangouts. It has almost anything you can imagine you would need to keep your business running. The largest search engine in the world that you use for information can keep a whole company connected with the use of its diversified suite. The best part about Google, IT IS FREE.

Deputy

Once your business is big enough to have multiple employees, now you need to worry about scheduling, understaffing, overstaffing, people putting in requests for time off, dropping and picking up shifts. Deputy helps you with an organized platform for you and your employees. Using a cloud for you and your employees to access on their own phones will allow employees to submit requests and make it easier to see their availability. Benefits of Getting Enough Sleep

You may think you are getting enough sleep with 6 hours a night, maybe less. You probably think you’re built for that lifestyle. Honestly, you are not. In rare occasions, some people can function the same with 5-6 hours of sleep. Most people do need 7-8 hours of sleep each night. The benefits of getting enough sleep will begin to show in your every day productivity and life. Ranging from your health, to mood, and even your sex life. You may want to think twice about staying up an hour or two later than you are supposed to.

1. ( ͡° ͜Ê– ͡°) Your Mood!

Sleeping less will directly effect your next day! It can ultimately ruin your day as it effects your mood and increases your level of stress. Repeatedly getting insufficient sleep can cause symptoms of depression, lower self esteem, and more anxiety. Sleep deprivation has more of an effect on your mood than anything else, so think about how you want your day to go. It starts the night before when you are deciding to sleep early, or binge watching that Netflix series.

2. Improves Your Sex Life

Libido is defined as sexual desire. The less sleep one gets will lower their libido as well as increasing sexual problems. When you are sleeping your body is recovering, whether it be your muscles recovering from a work out, your metabolism working hard, or your testosterone levels, which boosts sexual drive for both men and women.

3. Mental Capabilities

Sleep deprivation effects everything about you and your mental functionality especially. Getting sufficient sleep will help you with short term memory, for adults and children. Sleep deprivation impairs your ability to learn and grasp things in your head. You may notice that when you are not fully rested it is harder to focus on anything. From people talking to you to even driving. Driving with little to no sleep is basically the same thing as driving under the influence. Drowsy driving is responsible for 100,000 crashes and 1,500 deaths every year.

4. Your Overall Health

Getting enough sleep will help prevent petty sicknesses like the common cold! When your immune system is strong and you are well rested, it will be harder for little viruses to get through.  This saves you time and money in the long run. Those spending all their time awake are more inclined to getting sick and being under the weather.

At the end of the day, sleep is your decision if you don’t suffer from any sleep depriving illness, like insomnia. You should sleep at least seven to nine hours and you’ll reap the benefits of resting your body. The same way you charge your phone is the same way you should rest your body!

The SMART Way to Make Goals

Goals. Whether it was to make more sales or to lose that extra weight you put on from holiday ‘cookie’ season, everyone can relate to making a plan and wanting to achieve it. Setting goals and feeling a sense of achievement is inherent in human behavior, which is why you’ll hear the word constantly both in the workplace and in life in general.

So why do we need to accomplish goals? Achievement is needed in order to survive. An example of this can be taken from infants. Learning to walk is an achievement needed in order to become independent. Infants learn what is expected of them through observing others and then, when the time is right, they decide it’s time for them to learn. Then they try, fall, fall again, and fall some more. Then, after some bruises and close calls, they succeed. And once they’ve walked everywhere -some to places they shouldn’t be going- they start running. They keep building off of their last achievement and continue learning and growing.

But if you’re reading this, odds are you are no longer an infant. So why is it that it seems harder to achieve goals now, especially since we have become the independent beings that we looked up to as infants?  How many times have you successfully made a goal yet failed to follow through to the end?

The fact of the matter is that most people these days actually accomplish very little. We live in a culture full of multi-tasking and taking on too many projects. Rarely do we pick one thing, focus all of our energy on it, and work at it until its end. In order to gain a sense of fulfillment, completion of goals is necessary. The answer to completing goals is by creating them through the SMART goal method. By following these steps, you will be well on your way to happiness and achievement in no time.

Specific

When creating your goal, the first thing you want to do is make sure it is one that is clear and specific. It should be something that can be understood by anyone who reads or asks about it. If not clear and specific, it is easy to lose motivation and focus. When creating your goal, it’s important that it can answer these 5 ‘W’ questions:

  • What do I want to accomplish?
  • Why is the goal important?
  • Who is involved?
  • Where is it located?
  • Which resources or limits are involved?

Measurable

After you have made your goal specific, the next step is to make it measurable. You want to have an idea of how you will be able to tell if you are progressing during the goal journey. If able to measure success throughout the process, not only will you be able to see where all of your hard work is going, but you’ll also be more motivated to complete it since your mind will think you are closer to the finish line.

Achievable

In order to have a positive relationship with the goal you have set up, as well as the future goals you will set up, you want to make sure that your goal is achievable. At the same time, you want to make sure that your goal is also a challenge for yourself and something you really have to work for. If the goal is too easy to complete, personal growth and resiliency do not have the opportunity to increase. Goals are meant to challenge and progress. They are never meant to halt progress.

Relevant

You want to make sure you are working toward your goal. However, you also need to consider the timing and where you are in your journey. In addition to this, you also want to look at who will benefit from it other than you. If others are involved, are you still the right person to be completing it? Could someone else get it done who has a better chance of completing it? Ultimately, when creating your goal, consider if it is worthwhile, if the timing is right, if you are the right person to complete it, or if the economy is right.

Time-bound

The last thing you want to consider when creating your goal is that you want to make it time-bound. What this means is that there is a timeline with your goal, including when you complete it. Ultimately what this does is that it keeps you on track but also prevents everyday tasks from taking priority over your journey to goal completion.

The beauty about the SMART goal is that its steps are general enough to be applied to any area of your life. If you follow these simple requirements when drafting your goal, you’ll find yourself on the road to achievement in no time.

Affording innovative ways to advertise your small business in the local community is on the top of our list. This is exactly what we have done with our digital screens. Our state of the art digital screens is a new way  for your business to gain exposure in our lane gate program.

Our digital screens place your ad on a high-definition video screen at the front of the store in the checkout lanes. Why wouldn’t you want your small business promoted on a screen that will catch the shopper’s eyes? That’s right, you would! With a synchronized video wall across the front of the store, it will be very hard for the shoppers to not glance at the screen at least twice.

These screens leverage the 41 minutes of in-store time and the 13.1 minutes of screen dwell time. This allows for the shoppers to walk around the store and see your ad at all times, no matter how long they are walking around they will see a different portion of the ad eventually. It presents engaging content and targeted promotional offers as they shop and while they wait to check out.

Pro Tips for Hashtags

If you are a small business, it is important for you to separate yourself from others in all aspects. A hashtag is a perfect way to separate yourself from the pact. A hashtag is the icing on your cake. It sweetens up your post while making it easier for others to find it. If your hashtag is unique, there will be less posts associated with it leading to your post being at the top of the list when searched for. Using a commonly used hashtag will make it tedious to find in a pool of posts. Learning how to utilize a hashtag is beneficial to your branding and presence on social media. Here are a few tips we have accumulated to help you out!

Pro Tips for Hashtags

Local

For a small company to make a big impact in a community, it needs to keep online content, especially hashtags, local. That doesn’t mean every hashtag needs to include the town or state you’re operating in, but it should definitely be included in at least a few. It’s all about your audience and target market, how they think and where they are.

Relevant

If your service is lawn care, there’s no point posting “#couch #lion #lamp,” right? What would that do for your business? Absolutely nothing. Again, think about what is relevant to your current audience and the audience you are want to target and attract.

Out of the captions

Hashtags will help you get views, but you also don’t want to annoy the audience you already have. There’s not much worse than a tweet or Instagram post that’s mostly, if not all, hashtags. Use the hashtags strategically. Reply to one of your tweets or comment on your Instagram posts with them, it’s just as effective if not more.

Tools

Twitonomy: View the top 10 hashtags of any twitter user. Simply search their twitter handle and discover their frequently used hashtags. Want to know what a successful company in your industry is tweeting? This is an easy way!

Hashtagify.me: Another top 10 hashtag tool but based on a key word. Have a post about #art but not sure what related hashtags to tweet with it? Use Hashtagify.me to find out hashtags related to #art.

Twitter’s tailored trends: One of the most basic and free tools to figuring out what to tweet. The hashtags in the trending section on twitter are based on your location and who you follow. Your audience is key to your business, so knowing what they’re tweeting and care about will help you develop your tweets.

Supported platforms

It’s rare for a social media platform to not support hashtags. However, here are four social media sites where hashtags aren’t just supported–they’re used.

Facebook: Facebook is one of the newest social media sites that has added hashtag support. Hashtags link posts to a list of posts, by friends and non-friends, with the same hashtag.

Instagram: You can both link to and search hashtags on Instagram. Both will lead to two groups of Instagram posts with that hashtag in it: Top posts and most recent. It will also show related hashtags on the top of the page, a useful tool if you are stuck on other hashtags to add to your post.

Twitter: The first social media site to implement hashtags into their site. Twitter tracks trending hashtags, are used by journalists, for government updates, and to cover political and entertainment events. Twitter’s use of hashtags is more of a #livefeed. When searching a hashtag, there are three ways to filter the results: all, top, or people you follow.

Pinterest: Pinterest hashtags mark and search for content. Clicking on hashtags in a pin description directs results that contain the same hashtag.

Creating a new hashtag for your campaign can be difficult. If you need help with your presence on social media, contact us at inMark.

Confidence Is The Key To Success

In whatever it is you do, believing in yourself is the first step. It is amazing how powerful your mind. Really believing you are not good enough will make you fall in to a repeating self fulfilling prophecy. You will ultimately kill your chances before you even tried.

If you don’t believe in your abilities who will? Your parents, if you’re lucky enough, but at the end of the day your confidence is your key to success. Your psyche is important to uphold. Feed it how you would feed a plant. Talk to it, talk yourself up! “I can do this, I believe in myself”. You’ll start to walk the walk once you talk the talk.

Most people don’t succeed because they don’t even try. Like the legend Michael Jordan once said, “There have been times when I have failed. But there have never been times when I thought I would fail”. This mentality is how he succeeded. No challenge was to great for him in his mind, and even when he failed, at least he gave it his all.

Now, Michael Jordan was no scrub either, but he failed as much as he succeeded. The thing is, he never quit. With persistence and effort he has become a household name. This applies to anyone trying to be the best versions of themselves. Don’t let your failures bring down your confidence.

The next time you don’t believe in yourself, take a step back and think about how great you are. The smallest accomplishments can do a lot for your self-esteem. Push forward and progress, no matter how many times you may fall.

Teamwork in inMark Media

If two heads are better than one, what about a whole team of people? Teamwork is a vital part of the culture in inMark. With transparency from top to bottom, everyone knows exactly what goes on. Communication is key and inMark doesn’t lack one bit.

Goals

Every month inMark hosts a meeting to talk about what is going on with the company as a whole, introduces new members, and each member comes up with a goal sheet for the month. Picking a partner to hold accountable, we work as a team to help each other stay on track to complete our goals. These goals are created to help us grow in one of these categories, body, being, balance, or business.

Aside from monthly goals, each department has a certain goal they set themselves to push them to strive for the week. For example, the telemarketing team picks each other up when someone is down. They have arguably the hardest job, and positivity is key when working on the phones.

Projects

The creative department gets handed a ton of projects to complete. It is a team effort how we get them complete. Our graphic designers split up the work evenly, and help each other as needed. The more eyes and opinions they get on an unfinished project helps them get to a more appealing option. Everyone is willing to lend a hand to the next person, everything we do is aimed to better ourselves and inMark Media. When goals align its easy to focus on both.

“The best teams play for each other, not with each other” – Jeff Van Gundy. This may be a basketball quote, but it applies to the culture here at inMark. Building a sense of family in the workplace allows us to work together for each other, instead of “with” each other. This is important because having a coworker you just work with doesn’t really push you going forward. Believing the ideology of inMark as a whole puts us in the right direction as a team.
