For any business looking to keep a strong culture that lasts you need to get your team members to buy into it, and most importantly establish a culture YOU believe in. It starts with you creating a clear, consistent vision and how you want your business to be perceived by both workers and outsiders looking in.
At inMark, our leaders Franco Cabral and Marco Vitolo have done a fantastic job creating and maintaining our office culture. inMark Media has been built off of transparency, hard work ethic, and a fun, easy-going environment.
The following are some things inMark has been implementing in its growth.
-
Transparency
At inMark, nothing is kept a secret between the managers and the staff. The goal is to build a sense of community and trust. Decisions are left to an open discussion so input from the employees can be used as ideas, advice, or feedback. This is important for all staff members because it can slow down office gossip, low morale, and unhappiness.
-
Empower Your Employees
Empowering your employees is crucial to the workflow, especially when you want your employees to do the same or close to the same amount of work when you are not hawking over them. So how do you empower people? Trust them with responsibility!
You empower people by not micromanaging, giving them general guidelines to allow them to work on their own. Contrary to the belief that people are less capable than the manager, freedom to work on projects will give them a sense of urgency and pride. Not many people will be ok with their name being tarnished because of their work. Trust your employees and they may do better than your expectations.

Business and Personal Life
Yes, in a perfect world people will keep their personal life out of their business life. Sadly, we do not live in a perfect world. Your employees shouldn’t bring their personal issues to work, but sometimes it does happen and you shouldn’t condemn people for having feelings and issue that could happen to anyone.
Although you want everyone to have the same work-hard founder’s mentality as a business owner would have, you need to know that even your best worker needs time for themselves and their life. Let people take off a day if they need to, they’ll be back ready to work better once they have resolved their issue.
